PRODUCT OVERVIEW

Characteristics

The PS series provides graded process nanofiltration elements for fine molecular retention, concentration and desalination of high-value feeds.

  • Multiple grades across approximately 80–400 Da
  • Preferential passage of monovalent salts and selected small solutes
  • 34 mil feed spacer for fouling control
  • Precision winding and low permeate resistance

Compiled from available PS manuals. PS3 MWCO is taken from body text; PS7 is listed as 4040 in the source table; the duplicated PS16 file is omitted pending confirmation.

Reference values and maximum limits do not establish a combined operating condition for every feed. Confirm selection and operating conditions for the actual duty.

APPLICATIONS

Typical applications

  • Amino acid and polyol concentration
  • Antibiotic and pharmaceutical refining
  • Contrast-agent process concentration
  • Organic acid decolorization

SELECTION

Validate with your feed

Select the PS grade through real-feed testing against target MW, salts, small impurities and flux.

OPERATION

Operating guidance

  1. Confirm feed and pretreatment

Check composition, solids, viscosity, temperature, pH and oxidant residue; validate complex feeds at bench or pilot scale.

  2. Fill and vent at low pressure

Fill with a compatible medium and vent air before applying operating pressure.

  3. Ramp to stable operation

Increase pressure and circulation gradually while recording flux, rejection, pressure drop, temperature and recovery.

  4. Monitor fouling and clean

Use a compatible cleaning program when normalized flux declines or pressure drop rises.

  5. Shutdown and preserve

Keep wetted elements wet; for extended shutdown use 1.0% food-grade sodium bisulfite prepared in RO permeate.
